Techsplore Program

What is the Techsplore Program?

The All Girls Code team annually runs a flagship summer program called Techsplore Summer Program (previously Tech Immersion Program). This program hosts young girls from all backgrounds, free of charge, to introduce them to the applications of coding and programming in different fields.

What happens during the Techsplore Summer Program?

The program includes a mix of technical workshops, leadership sessions, and interactive lectures. The lectures have covered topics such as "Titans of Silicon Valley", "How Women Started the Art of Code", among others. The technical workshops have allowed our young girls to learn and use their coding skills to serve the environment, medical, financial, and business fields, among others. The program wraps up with a one-day mini-hackathon, called Hack0100Sustainability, during which the girls work on building prototypes to implement one of the UN SDGs in Lebanon.

Who is this program open to?

The program has welcomed young girls from more than 10 countries, including Lebanon, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, United States, among others. All Girls Code also welcomes young refugees. It is open to girls of ages 12 to 22.

When is the Techsplore Program?

The program will be running virtually on August 13, 14, and 15, 2021, using a combination of online tools (Google Meet, Zoom, YouTube). Some sessions will be accessible at any time of the day while others will be offered more than once to account for electricity cuts or technical issues.

What to expect?

The free of charge, three-day program exposes the participants to the use of coding and technology in several fields and includes leadership workshops, interactive sessions, technical activities, and advisory panels. It will be the perfect chance for you to meet new like-minded, motivated, and ambitious young girls!

Please note that prior knowledge of coding is NOT necessary, and several difficulty levels of workshops are available. The program is open to all girls from ages 12 to 22 years old.

We have two tracks for this year’s Techsplore. The beginner track is Python, Networks, Game Development. The advanced track is Algorithms and AI workshops. If you mentioned in your application that you have no prior coding knowledge, you will be automatically registered for the beginner track.

What do participants receive after the program ends?

The attendees receive a certificate of participation. Attendees who have won during the hackathon also receive certificates for hackathon winners. All Girls Code usually runs an Awards Ceremony directly when the program ends. We have also hosted a Graduation Ceremony at the Grand Serail.

How can I join?
