Please keep in mind that our team consists of unpaid volunteers who put in their time to spread the impact of All Girls Code. It is highly rewarding to join us, though, as our team members have gone on to speak at conferences, both locally and abroad, win awards, and expand their network greatly, too! Also, your work with us will look great on your CV! The best part is that most of the work can be done remotely, from the comfort of your home.

Offered Positions:


Mentorship Team


Description:

The mentorship team organizes mentorship programs targeting young women to help them foster their skills whether soft or technical ones. Accordingly, mentees have the chance to get connected to female leaders in a like-minded environment. These programs prepare young women for their future careers in STEM while exposing them to crucial training and workshops.

Responsibilities:

- Assisting mentees in-office hours during the program

- Planning personal development workshops

- Encourage young female leaders to embark on STEM-related careers

- Connecting mentees to professional leaders

- Monitoring the progress of the program through its modules

- Be able to join meeting on a weekly basis

- Be able to meet deadlines and submit tasks accordingly

Requirements:

- Soft skills: communication skills, leadership skills, team player, time management commitment, collaboration, research skills, problem-solving

- Technical skills: Microsoft, Google Apps

- High school student or university student

- Commitment: 15 hours per month

- Weekly meetings


Volunteers needed: 3


Technical Team


Description:

The team creates workshops and materials for people to benefit from. The team member will communicate their ideas, areas, and fields of interest, then a layout, and process will follow. The team members will learn soft skills, such as teamwork, communication skills, and the application of their creativity to the field of Tech. The fields can include computer vision, AI, cybersecurity, and more.

Responsibilities:

- Work on workshops in your field of interest

- Create a layout with team members on the material

- Attend mini-progress meetings

- Create interactive and creative videos revolving around tech

Requirements:

- Knowledgeable in at least one of the following Programming Languages:

- Python

- JavaScript

- PHP

- Swift

- Knowledgeable in at least one of the following Frameworks:

- React

- Angular

- Flutter

- UI/UX knowledge is a plus

Marketing Team


Description:

The marketing team is responsible for promoting events and workshops across all social media platforms. The team member is expected to brainstorm with the rest of the team on ideas regarding marketing campaigns. The team member will also be publishing posts, interacting with the audience through stories, and responding to any inquiries or feedback in the DMs.

Responsibilities:

- Develop ideas to grow AGC across the MENA region

- Come up with new marketing campaigns (example: Women’s Day)

- Engage with the audience by answering and reacting to comments and DMs

- Create stories and posts for the social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter)

Requirements:

- Written communication skills for captions and stories

- Familiar with Google Apps and Microsoft Programs

- High school student or university student

- Have experience in designing posts and stories

- Have a creative edge for designing posts and stories

- Knowledge in Canva is a plus

Newsletter Team


Description:

The newsletter team's main purpose is to prepare a monthly newsletter to be sent out to the AGC community. This newsletter tackles different themes every month. It does not necessarily revolve around technology and coding; however, one of the main themes is woman empowerment. We try our best to make it informative and entertaining for our audience. In addition, the team runs a blog called "Bits and Bytes''. It is a creative space that allows all AGC members to express their thoughts and ideas through writing.

Responsibilities:

There are numerous sections in our newsletter. Some of them include an icon of the month, the member of the month, and book recommendations. We also have several articles published on our blog every month. Team members usually choose a section or article to work on. It is also very important to keep updating our sections to keep the newsletter interesting. Thus, the newsletter team members should always be searching for new, out-of-the-box ideas.

Requirement:

- Have excellent English skills (grammar, writing, vocabulary, and paraphrasing)

- Maintain ethical principles by avoiding plagiarism

- Be creative and innovative and come up with new ideas

- Abide by and respect deadlines

- Attend team meetings whenever necessary and always check what's sent on the team's communication platforms

- Be respectful and polite

- Be cooperative with the team members

- Communicate with the team leader about work progress and any arising issues

- Be able to dedicate around 3-5 hours per month for the AGC team (this could vary from an individual to another)

- Good knowledge in fosha Arabic is a plus too

Design Team


Description:

This team is responsible for the designs of the social media posts, and some designs for the handouts or PDFs that may be sent to new participants at All Girls Code events, whilst having the same feel and look to the designs.

Requirement for the Team Lead:

- Graphic Designer with knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop

- Knowledge of Canva is a plus

- Some leadership skills

- Attention to detail, creative eye

- Willing to give constructive feedback for team members to help them grow

- Ready to communicate with other team leads

Requirement for the Team Member:

Volunteers needed: 3 Members, 1 Team Lead


Digital Advocacy Team


Description:

The Digital Advocacy Team is responsible for developing Key Performance Indicators for AGC to measure its impact, using previously collected statistics and conducted interviews, to issue reports on the previous and ongoing AGC events. The team is also responsible for potentially drafting a new set of goals for the upcoming year based on the findings from each report. Add to that, the Digital Advocacy Team works on promoting knowledge, curiosity, and raising awareness among its community around digital advocacy whether it is through events, panels, published articles and writings, or podcasts.

Responsibilities:

- Writing annual and AGC events related reports

- Developing Key Performance Indicators and new goals for AGC

- Planning, organizing, and executing events and sessions/writing publications related to digital advocacy.

Requirement:

- Good writing skills

- Analytical, interpretation, and evaluation skills (to properly measure AGC’s numbers, work, growth, and impact)

- Interest in digital advocacy

- Willingness to prepare, implement and take part in several digital advocacy campaigns

- Genuine interest in discovering and letting people know about AGC’s impact
